The IAAP Education Foundation Scholarship program strengthens
the Illinois aggregates industry by promoting the education of worthy
students
seeking a career in the aggregates industry. Furthermore, this scholarship enhances the relationship
between the IAAP and institutions of higher learning that are educating and
training the next generation of aggregate industry professionals.
The IAAP Education Foundation will award up to four (4) $2,000 scholarships.
These scholarships are a
one-year grant. Students may re-apply in subsequent years.
The Scholarship Committee
plans to meet in April to review the applications and interview
eligible applicants. The application deadline is
February 15, 2013.
Scholarships will be presented at a luncheon ceremony held during the April
23, 2013 Annual Convention of the Illinois Association of
Aggregate Producers.
STATEMENT OF REQUIREMENTS

Applicant must be a high school graduate or will graduate the year applying.

Applicant must have at least a "B"
average.

Applicant must be majoring in a curriculum which will be compatible with a
career in the aggregates industry such as (but not limited to) Civil Engineering, Engineering Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, Geological Engineering, Mineral
Science or Mining Engineering.

Applicant must be pursuing undergraduate work only,
on a full-time basis.
In order to be considered
for an IAAP Education Foundation Scholarship, you must submit the following
information:

Completed
Application Form
-
High School Transcript, including ACT or SAT
scores
-
Current College Transcript, if applicable. NOTE:
High School transcripts must be submitted if you are in college for 1 year
or less.

Essay explaining:
-
how your
chosen field will apply to work in the Illinois aggregates industry;

your goals;
-
where you
plan to attend school; and
-
why you chose
to apply for this scholarship.

completed applications to: IAAP Education Foundation, 1115 South Second
Street, Springfield, IL 62704. All
applications must be received on or before February 15, 2013.
Incomplete applications and applications submitted after the due date are
subject to rejection. |
